Personnel

Teaching

  • Admissions done
- 2 admitted per slot for non-EU, 1.6 per slot for EU
  • Names for MP coordinators ready:
- CSALL: Peter Damaschke
- SE: Miroslaw Staron
- CSN: Elad Schiller
- EESD: Kjell Jeppson
- GU: Graham Kemp
  • Problems with course code sharing with GU
- According to GU rules, a re-sit opportunity must be rather soon after the original exam (at Chalmers, it can be 5 months)
- We might have to remove the courses from the GU course catalog...
  • Proposal to give a premium to the best master thesis each year

Research and Proposals

  • New research school for Areas of Advance
- Will work as overlay for existing schools
- Will offer courses in "industrial" skills
  • Research schools will review eachother in 2012

CSE issues

  • CSE supports a language technology center at GU (dept. of Swedish)
  • Pedagogical mentorship for PhD Students
- Meetings, discussions before first teaching opportunity
  • Lunch room remodeling starts on June 14
- No spa and beauty salon, sorry (ref. April 1st hoax)
  • VP redux: adjunct teachers urgently sought!

Chalmers issues

  • All card readers at entrances to be replaced
- Cards are now unobtainable
  • New system being evaluated for exam result handling

  • Student Unions approaching govt. for visa status change for PhD students
