SET-division Winter Meeting 2010

Details:

Our annual SET-division winter meeting will take place January 14-15. The bus will leave at 9.00 from the "Copper dome" on the 14th and will arrive back at Chalmers around 17.00 on Friday. The meeting venue is Stadshotell Varberg.

The purpose of the winter meeting is to get to know each other better, socially and professionally. Six sessions of 1h15m each will give our different subgroups the opportunity to present themselves and their past, present and future work. Breaks and social activities will tie us closer together, help us find common problems & solutions and be just fun. We have 35 registered participants and the following session chairs:

The session chair has full freedom (and responsibility) to fill 1h15m with an interesting programme based on contributions from her group. Talks / discussions have been contributed (by 2010-01-07 to the session chairs or here: http://www.doodle.com/4rbmdh7s9bsq8wc4 ). We would like talks or discussions about all aspects of our work: cool research ideas, teaching methods and experiences, the interaction between research and teaching, proposals for change in how we do things, ways to get funding, how to find and exploit industrial contacts, how to increase our visibility inside or outside Chalmers, visions for what we can achieve as a division, anything!

The final mapping from session topic to session number is as follows:

ntopic:ChairOther members
1FP1:Alejandro,John, Michal, Nicholas, Patrik, Jean-Philippe, Hans
2Teach:Joachim,Sven Arne, Jan, Björn
3ProSec:Dave,Arnar, Niklas, Willard, Thor, Jonas, Phu, Filippo
4AppSE:Rogardt,Kenneth, Ana, Tomas
5SEuFM:Ina,Richard, Wolfgang, Gabriele, Ran, Reiner
6FP2:Koen,Ann, Mary, Anders, Joel, Josef, Emil, Niklas

Notes:

  • FP1+FP2: the division into FP1 and FP2 is fairly arbitrary, but 16 participants were just too many to squeeze into one session.
  • Teach: This session will include a brief "history of the SET division (+ CS dept.)" by Jan Skansholm

Welcome,

Arnar, Ina, Patrik and Richard
