[Information from Peter Damaschke & Laura Kovacs]

purpose:

developing the course with that name, to meet the UKÄ criticism on lacking skills in scientific argumentation/writing and ethical considerations

done:

(I haven't counted hours, just continuously working in small steps on things that need to be done)

  • made a preliminary schedule
  • drafted part of the lecture notes on scientific writing and ethics,
  • collected material, e.g., example papers for the writing exercises

work left:

  • finalizing lecture notes, course homepage, etc.
  • something like the current Tech Talks shall be offered to the students (Laura has certainly more details about this)
  • some coordination regarding ethics (guest lecture as in MPCSN's Technical Writing course?, attending the inspiration seminar on ethics)
  • contact industry representatives in order to offer technical talks on industry research; all together, we aim at 8 industry tech talks, one each week.

finished:

essentially before summer
