Personnel
- Interviews for CHAMPP students ongoing
- Two batches down, one to go
- Several very promising candidates
- CSE FoAss recruitment moving forward
- Topic areas selected, draft of ad drawn up
- Exact conditions to be determined (CSE faculty meeting, Kollegium, will help)
- Need to find external evaluators (sakkunniga) for applicants
- Peter Damaschke will head up the GU MSc programme
Teaching
- Master programme review group to include Elad Schiller
- With Jan J and me, one person knowledgeable in each of the programmes being considered
- Responses for the Restart EDIT have poured in
- ~50 documents (in Swedish); too large for upload here; let me know if you want it
- Very brief summary (read it to get the full story!): industry responses quite positive, academic responses (inside and outside Chalmers) cite concerns about maintaining excellence and about whether applications will actually increase
Department issues
- Series of research seminars will go ahead; 1 year with possible extension
- "Colloquium"? "Distinguished speaker series"?
- Sally will coordinate
- Teaching after reorganisation of Software Engineering etc is being reviewed
- Scheduling is difficult due to two campuses, etc
Chalmers issues
- HSV quality evaluation method being re-tuned
- Even higher emphasis on thesis projects/reports
- New function at Central Admin: Strategic Research Support
- Help with application writing, reviewing, consortium building, lobbying, etc
- Think Kurt Stenudd writ large (also not only for EU projects)
- ICT FoAss: interviews and seminars on April 20--22
AOI
- Annual round of performance reviews (medarbetarsamtal) will commence soon
- PhD students to be handled by Jan Jonsson and/or Koen Claessen
