UNIX-groups in the Chalmers computer system

This is an inofficial list of some of the groups used in the Chalmers system, with some explanation. (The background is that the current (2009) system only takes 16 groups into account but gives no error message when adding group memberships.)

One way to check what groups you are a member of is:

  ssh remote11.chalmers.se groups

Another source of information is cdks.chalmers.se - but some of the "PDB-groups" listed there don't correspond to any UNIX-groups.
