ST2013-11

(One of the ST Division Meetings.)

ST 2013-11-11: 15.15-16.00 in EDIT-8103

Agenda

  • Communication channels, web pages, etc.
    • Our information officer Anneli leads a discussion about ST division communication needs
    • As Filippo del Tedesco is approaching the end of his PhD time we will need a new PhD student in charge of the ST division pages.
  • Coworkership (medarbetarskap): an ongoing project to improve the internal environment at the department.
    • Experiences from the workshops (past participants from ST include: Andrei Sabelfeld, Jan Skansholm, Niklas Broberg, Joachim von Hacht, Jonas Duregård, Patrik Jansson, Moa Johansson, Emil Axelsson, Josef Svenningsson, Jean-Philippe Bernardy)
    • Expectations of follow-up activities (past participants)
    • Expectations of upcoming attendance (upcoming participants)
    • Observations of attitude changes at workplace (all)
    • Patrik: I'm happy to see that most of our faculty have now attended the "medarbetarskap" workshops (2012-2013). I attended autumn 2012 and I really liked the opportunity to build new connections across divisions (including the adm. support division) and to discuss different viewpoints, problems and solutions. All workshops also provide concrete feedback to Jan and Koen about how the department could improve. In addition to these larger and smaller effects on the particpants and the resulting improvements of the local environment these workshops have also been essential in identifying and solving at least one serious workplace environment problem. [This was not part of the plan when the project was started but can be seen as a positive side-effect.] I think these workshops can be really interesting events where the particpants can both provide valuable input to the CSE department and strengthen their connections within the department. The workshop agenda is rather open, with lots of time for discussion, so you will have the opportunity of really affecting it in the direction you feel would be constructive. With this opportunity also comes the responsibility to be active (both as listener and talker) and to try to make sure every participant feels part of the activity.

Probably at a later meeting:

"Newcomers' party"@ST division, November 11

As mentioned already in the ST division meetings, we will have a newcomers party on November 11.

The party is for the entire division, and is organized by the ST division newcomers (all together 11 persons!)

The event will already start with the division meeting on Nov. 11, and then continue in our lunch room from around 6pm.

We, the newcomers, will take care of organization, including some fun presentations about us, as well as food and music.

If you would like to come to the party, please sign up at the Doodle poll by November 7:
