Om studenter vill ha tentamenslösningar får de kontakta examinatorn. Avvaktar svar från Arkivarie om institutionen är skyldig att arkivera tentamenslösningar.

Vi beslutade att fortsätta med Studadm som ett informationsmöte. Fasta mötestider. Christer återkommer med vårens mötestider. Punkter till agendan skickas till Åsa eller Rebecca.

Ana, Olof, Arne tittar på ett gemensamt gränsnitt/program för en gemensam struktur för inst. kurser. För att underlätta administrativa arb.uppgifter behövs ett program för att söka ut information om tex vilka kurser som går, kursansvariga och kurskoder mm

Admission process Computer Science Master’s programme 2008

Today applicants can choose to apply to eight different universities in Sweden. This means that a lot of the screening process is a complete waste of time. Not more than three alternatives would make more sense.

In the Swedish admission system a student that fulfill the formal requirements and is among the best available applicants will be admitted, even if we think their grades are too low to be able to follow our education. As a consequence we had great difficulties trying to find ways to avoid admitting student that fulfilled the formal requirements, but that we did not find to be suitable candidates for the Computer Science Master programme. In the end we choose to admit a very low number of students, as we did not have a very high number of suitable candidates.

We had planned our screening process quite early, and a few people at the department were going to help us out. But as the central screening process did not keep their time plan (it was delayed for weeks if not months) we had to delay our screening and the whole process ended up in a system where the Admission’s office at GU kept giving us applications in the very last minute and still kept delaying their own deadlines.

The NYA-system is a disaster in many ways. An example: If you want to take out a list of your applicants it is not possible to choose what kind of information you want or to sort the applicants in any other way than alphabetical and you can only get pdf-files. It is not even possible to exclude the applications you have already screened, unless the admissions office have changed their status. I ended up cutting and pasting text from pdf-files and manually completing the information in Excel to be able to keep track of our work. Extremely time consuming and a complete waste of time, since these lists should be available directly from the system.

We got some information regarding University rankings, University system and grading systems from the Admission office at Chalmers. These guides were very useful. However, to increase efficiency and quality in the screening process if would make sense to spend more time on this kind of information. E g seminars about University systems, rankings and grading systems in the most common countries. This would be valuable to everyone working in the screening process.

Om tentaanmälan - från Åsa 081014:

Jag har kikat lite på den information som finns utlagd centralt om anmälan till tentor. Vi hade ju bl.a. upp en punkt i GruKom om omtentamenstillfällen och att lärare lägger ner tid på att skapa tentor när få eller inga sedan dyker upp på själva tentamenstillfället.

Har upptäckt där att det faktiskt inte står att man ska avanmäla sig ifall man inte tänker tentera.

Den enda formulering som berör avanmälan är denna: : 

  Du kan även ta bort en tidigare gjord anmälan fram till en vecka innan tentamensperioden börjar.

Den meningen visar ju inte att studenter förväntas att avanmäla sig.

Det behövs förstås en tydlig information till studenterna om detta. Annars kommer vi nog aldrig att få det att stämma mellan antal anmälda och det faktiska antal som dyker upp.

Eller tycker inte Chalmers att en "regel" om avamälan ska finnas?
