Connecting to the clusters

This page deals with issues of accessing computers for running calculations at Chalmers.

A list of our current projects can be found here.

C3SE Computers

The main computers used for large-scale HPC are the c3se machines, Vera and Hebbe. Information regarding access is to be found here: C3SE Access

On the C3SE site is a detailed list of available codes, example job submission scripts and information on hardware and usage limits.

To find your project numbers on Glenn or Hebbe use:

projinfo

and to find the project for the dedicated KCK-nodes, look on SNICProjects, or use:

projinfo -q kck

PDC Computers

Accounts for the PDC computers (Tegner, Beskow) can be requested on SUPR after logging in with your Chalmers identity. Creating an account may take some days.

Some help for installing openssh on Mac is described here.

Hebbe has been dismissed as of 31st of January 2022. On Vera the central VASP installation is not available anymore. We do have some self compiled versions.
The binaries can be found in '/cephyr/NOBACKUP/priv/c3-vasp-ghj/Vera/software/VASP/vasp-version/bin/vasp-bin'
In order for any version to work as expected the fortran compilers need to be loaded, for example use:
module load icc/2019.1.144-GCC-8.2.0-2.31.1 impi/2018.4.274
