Beginning of thesis work

  • General rules for master thesis student are found here.
  • Print your work card, found HERE.
  • Write a planning report and get it approved by your examiner. The students must write a planning report providing a detailed description of the problem/task. The planning report must contain the background, purpose, objective, scope, method and timetable for completion of the thesis. The planning report is submitted to the examiner for approval.
  • Register the thesis project at Student centrum, a short description of the project is required and the signature of the Master Programme responsible, find the document here.
  • During the semester remember to go to other students’ thesis presentations and fill out your work card.

Finalizing

  • Finish report and get it approved by examiner
  • Book a time for presentation with your examiner and arrange an opponent. The opponent is usually someone studying the same, or a similar, master programme as yourself.
  • Fill out the work card and make sure everything is done, then hand it in at Applied Physics administration (floor 5 in the Physics building).
  • Decide how many printed copies of your thesis that you want and contact Chalmers Reproservice for printing, after discussing with your supervisor how many copies that should be printed. When contacting Reproservice to order the printing, you will need both a “Kostnadställe” and a project number. This you get from your examiner.
